Distinguished pianist (she was conducted by Leopold Stokowski at the New York City Symphony), Roxane Connick is known mainly for her ethnomusicological research in sub-Saharan Africa. During the'60s,'70s and'80s, she travelled throughout Africa, South America and Asia in search of music and interviews, which resulted in scientific publications and more than 1500 photographs and 200 sound recordings deposited at the Library of Congress in Washington.
